Don’t look now, but Kanye West might be pulling a Ned Stark on us with this new song he just put out, because it might very well be the first sign of Cruel Winter, a brand new album that may or may not be under the GOOD Music label.
Ye released the song—a six-minute posse cut which people are calling “Champions” and featuring Big Sean, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Desiigner (among others)—on Big Boy’s 92.3 while most of us on this side of the world were asleep. Cruel Winter, amazingly hot off the heels of the rather lukewarm but memetastic The Life of Pablo, was/is/will be the long-awaited follow up to 2012’s GOOD Music record Cruel Summer, which housed early 2010s hits like “Mercy” and “Clique.”
It might very well stand to be this summer’s hip-hop banger du jour, assuming Drake or anyone else doesn’t put out any new earworms. Check it out right here:
Meanwhile, we still don’t have a new Frank Ocean album. Come on, dude.
