While this sounds like too long of a day, they made sure not to get you yawning with a large variety of activities from galleries to passion drenched live art sessions. The day offers not just an outstanding visual experience but also a huge amount of musical performances to cater to your eargasmic needs.

ART

Housing your deep thoughts, Museo Orlina will be filled with paintings, sculptures, and other works of art. In collaboration with Art Beat, they specially unified an exhibit by these promising local artists Gab Loste, Jess de Leon, Lee Caces, Kim Pamela Co, Anthony Molina, Dennis Jimenez, Hannah Bundalian, Gab Baez, Jenny Gernale, Razel Mari, Dennis Bato, Lhean Storm, Mykie Concepcion, Rydel Reib Arayata, and Bea Policarpio.

While this excites you, the event also offers you the opportunity to see art get made from a blank canvas. See these artists undergo their creative process: Jappy Agoncillo, Dee Jae Paeste, Miggy Antonio, Aral Cru, and Kris Abrigo.

MUSIC

With Art Beat’s advocacy to showcase local talent, this year’s event gives you the best of two worlds: discovering new music, and enjoying your staple bands. “This year’s edition will be more more intimate”, says JB Balaquit, founder of Docdef Productions. “It will be a more familial show, focusing on the diversity of musicians scattered and hidden in the Filipino music scene.”

Taking the Tagaytay Art Beat stage once more are pop-rock band Autotelic, math rock trio Tom’s Story, and soul-rock band Farewell Fair Weather. Joining them this year are indie rock band Oh, Flamingo! and blues funk UBE. Compliment the cool breeze with some tunes that set the mood from singer-songwriters Clara Benin, Reese Lansangan, Julianne Tarroja and Max Javelino.

Feel the air, watch the clouds, and seize the moment while acoustic acts Leanne and Naara and I Belong to the Zoo play. Get you dancing to the energetic beat of bands like Ben&Ben, 6 piece indie folk band The Ransom Collective and makata pop Munimuni. Dive into local hip-hop with performances from Uprising Records‘ Anygma: Apoc x DJ Nicko, Kjah x Supreme Fist, and BLKD x The Tooters.

Get experimental with kalimbatronic artist Bea Lorenzo, DJ-and-drums duo Motherbasss, and theatrical horror rock band Mr. Bones & The Boneyard Circus. Move to the drums’ beating with world beat-jazz-rock outfit Dayaw and djembe artist collective Adinkra Lumads. Jam to some reminiscent songs and new tracks by Mayonnaise and The Itchyworms.

Tagaytay Art Beat believes in the excellency of diversity in local music, and therefore provides a stage to each genre for the world listen. In retrospect, they want music-lovers in and out of Metro Manila to collide. Moreover, this promotes the scenic and atmospheric environment the Philippines offers. Just remember to keep the place clean after having the best time. Here’s the official poster.
