About a month ago, environmental activist Greta Thunberg rattled everyone—including UN global leaders—when she spoke about the ever-worsening climate crisis. “We are at the beginning of mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth,” she told the UN General Assembly.
Though we obviously can’t completely mitigate the situation overnight, small, collective efforts can count. This is exactly what For The Forest believes in. The Filipino-focused project that helps people chip in their contributions to the reforestation efforts in Yangil, Zambales (where an indigenous Aeta tribe currently lives) is throwing a party for everyone who wants to support their cause.

Tomorrow, Nov. 7, For The Forest will be hosting “Forest Friends,” a party in Verde, Poblacion. Through a night of dancing and drinking with fellow forest friends, you could help reforestation efforts in Yangil. Partying and world-saving might sound like mutually exclusive things, but this event is funding a tree for every ticket sold. Talk about partying responsibly.
Aside from DJ sets by Milkman and Local Sun & Captain Planet, performances by Basically Saturday Night, Leanne and Naara, and Rice Lucido will be there to save the night (and Earth). Tickets are P350 for presale and P400 for door charge. In case you were wondering—yeah, it comes with a free beer.
Just like what For The Forest says on their website, these ancestral lands—after they’ve been destroyed by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption—could be a new home if the reforestation process is successful.
Grab tickets for you and your friend here.
