Christmas came early for purveyors of late-00s indie. During our lady Lana Del Rey’s “Norman Fucking Rockwell!” tour, she sang the Death Cab For Cutie (DCFC) classic “I Will Follow You into the Dark” with everyone’s favorite indie dad, DCFC’s Ben Gibbard.

Unexpected cameos are a staple in the “Norman Fucking Rockwell!” tour. From icons like  Chris Isaak and Joan Baez, to modern faves like Jack Antonoff and Zella Day, Lana doesn’t spare a show without a little help from her friends. Gibbard opened for Lana’s Denver show yesterday.

Later on the show, he went back to sing one of his band’s iconic singles with one of the queens of modern pop herself.

In the same Denver show, Lana performed with Australian indie-folk darling Julia Jacklin as well. They sang Jacklin’s song “Don’t Know How To Keep Loving You.” Of course, both Gibbard and Jacklin’s performance was welcomed with a wave of fans cheering for more.

Be on the lookout for updates during Lana’s tour. Who knows? Maybe she’ll collab with your playlist mainstay soon enough.
