How: Pick a place, make a reservation, go and grab the mic.

Where: There are a number of kid-friendly karaoke places in the country. Our pick is Red Box in Greenbelt.

What you’ll need: Cash and your vocal chords.

Time out: Three to four hours.

Cost: Red box has a lunch hour rate of P299 with lunch buffet and free room from 12 to 3 p.m.. From 3 p.m.-7 p.m., the rate is P299, that comes with two drinks and free room use.

Why you’ll love it: You’ll enjoy hearing your kids belt out their favorite songs. And you’ll have fun singing yours, too!

Why your kids will love it: Because they will have a lot of fun.

Why it’s good for them: Singing in front of other people can help develop their confidence. Plus, it’s a great way to discover their talents. You never know—you might have the country’s next big pop star in your family.

Make ‘rice krispie’ sundaes

What: Put together two kiddie favorites—rice krispie treats and ice cream sundaes.

How: Melt butter in a saucepan, add marshmallows and mix until they melt. Pour Rice Krispies into a bowl and pour the melted marshmallow-and-butter mixture over them.

Mix until the Rice Krispies are covered. Press the mixture onto a pan that has been buttered or lined with wax paper. Cut the Rice Krispie treats into pieces big enough to hold a scoop of ice cream. Put one Rice Krispie treat on a plate or bowl, add a scoop of ice cream, add bananas and drizzle with chocolate syrup or top with Nutella. Eat.

Where: Your kitchen

What you’ll need: A box of Rice Krispies, a bag of marshmallows, two tablespoons of butter, ice cream, bananas, chocolate syrup or Nutella

Time out: 30 minutes

Cost: Around P500.

Why you’ll love it: Because being in the kitchen with your kids is a great opportunity for bonding.

Why your kids will love it: Because these sundaes are easy to make and are so delicious.

Why it’s good for them: They can explore creativity with food when they make their own sundaes. This is also a good way to teach them food presentation.
