Maximize your reader era with Ateneo University Press Bookshop’s comeback - SCOUT

OCTOBER 27, 2022

There is definitely nothing better than the feel of new books, especially when you get them in person. Although getting books delivered to our homes has somewhat been a norm since the pandemic, picking from shelves IRL still emits a different kind of happiness, and thankfully, patrons of the Ateneo University Press can experience that once more once they step inside the Ateneo de Manila campus.

Situated on the first floor of the Bellarmine Hall, the Ateneo Press Bookshop operates from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 n.n. and 1 to 4 p.m.

Don’t fret: Anyone can drop by. In the comments on their official Facebook page, Ateneo Press announced that non-Atenean visitors can head to  the bookshop by simply bringing a valid ID so they may be given a guest pass when entering the campus.

They went back online on Jan. 3 through popular online shopping platforms and their website too.

Ateneo Press has been consistently awarded as publisher of the year at the National Book Awards from 2017 to 2023. They also won back in 2008.

Seven titles from Ateneo de Manila University Press also won the recent 41st National Book Awards last Dec. 9, which include “Yñiga” by Glenn Diaz as best novel in English, “Song of the Mango and Other New Myths” by Vida Cruz-Borja that won the National Artist Cirilo F. De Ungria as best anthology in English, and “Plus/+ at Iba Plus, Maramihan: New Philippine Nonfiction on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identities” edited by Ronaldo B. Tolentino and Chuckberry J. Pascual won best anthology in Filipino.
