What to eat when you have unlimited wine and a broken heart | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

No Valentine’s date? No problem. Seriously, who needs a boo when you’ve got booze? Okay, all jokes aside, Refinery brought back their wine and beer promos for the month of February. Singles can rejoice now.

Unlimited wine that you can upgrade into a sparkling mojito

For P500, you can enjoy unlimited wine at any Refinery branch—whether that’s in Rockwell or Greenhills. This one isn’t for the day drinkers though, as the promo runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day of February.

Don’t forget to coat your stomach with food before your bender. If you’re going for blood, pair a red wine with their Angry Pasta, a sweet and spicy linguine with sausages and smoked bacon. It’s okay to eat and drink your feelings. For those who like things on the lighter side, a white wine with the Wake Up Sammie will pick anyone up from their slump. Also, what’s not to love about breakfast and wine at night time?

Would you like some cheese to go with your whine? If you want to add fancy to your despair, Refinery has lowered its charcuterie platter to P350, too.

Beer for you and your buddies—or just yourself

Not a wino? That’s fine. They’ve got a buy two, take one promo on imported beers. It runs during the same time as the unli-wine promo, too, so come with friends. Or, you know, drink them all. We won’t judge.

Remember to pour your beer the right way to avoid bloating, too. Make sure it foams so that the excess pressure and air is released before they get into your stomach.

For beer pairings, a golden Belgian beer like Stella Artois is any fried food’s best friend, so go for the Double Truffle Fries. As for Mexican-style lagers like Corona, hit dishes on the spicier side, like the Sweet & Spicy Wings. It might sound weird to pair beer with breakfast, but see if the fruity and sweet combination of Hoegaarden and the Banana Nutella French Toast is to your liking.

Not to shame on people who do have dates, though. Couples looking to get buzzed are welcome, too. Celebrate each other over a toast—or many. May your relationship age as beautifully as fine wine.

And hey, if you’ve got the guts, why not share this with your crush? You miss all of the shots you don’t take. And if this one doesn’t work, be better, not bitter. In defense of alcohol though, why not both?
