I’ve always been enthralled with ancient languages. Latin, Ancient Greek—as someone who took up philosophy, there was always something magical about being able to read classical texts in their original languages. Which is why seeing this announcement from my old college department excited me so much:
Dr. Jovino Miroy, a philosophy professor, will be holding an introduction to Latin class on Saturdays starting June 8 until July 6. That’s a whole month to learn basic Latin! The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Manila House Private Club. The rate per class is P1,500, though Manila House members get a discounted rate of P1,200 while students get a rate of P700.
To register, check out the Manila House’s event page. If you have any inquiries, you can also contact Dr. Miroy at [email protected].
