Meet OASIS, DOLE’s new tracking system for returning overseas workers | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

To better facilitate and monitor returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be rolling out an online tracking system.

The system, called OFW Assistance Information System (OASIS), was developed by crisis management personnel from DOLE, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

OASIS will be used to identify and classify workers to facilitate their arrival at the airport. The system will be collecting data such as their whereabouts, health condition, airlines used, local addresses and other relevant data to better organize swab testing and transportation to their hotels or homes.

The system will also serve as a database for workers who have been displaced by the pandemic and were forced to return home, and allow the government to identify the kind of assistance they need.

OFWs can register online through the OASIS website, where they will be asked to fill out a form. After they submit the form and give their consent to process their data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, a link will be sent to their emails to notify them that they have successfully registered in the system.
