People’s Palace, a premiere location for Thai cuisine, has closed its doors temporarily due to the effects of the pandemic. The restaurant was known for its homemade Thai curries, fruit salads and even some cocktails customers would enjoy in their al fresco dining area. With many vying to get a taste of their cooking, it was the kind of restaurant where you’d need to reserve a table in advance.
Now that the restaurant has closed, their website shared the following message:
“With the best interest of our guests, employees and the wider community, it’s with a heavy heart that we have had no choice but to close People’s Palace Thai for the foreseeable future.
While the restaurant is closed, some of our chefs have joined the kitchen team at our sister restaurant Blackbird at the Nielson Tower which is now open for dine in, take away and delivery. Every day, the People’s Palace chefs are cooking fresh homemade Thai curries, great salads and stir-fried dishes using all the same ingredients and fresh herbs [from] our own organic farm in Cavite.”
Blackbird at the Nielson Tower, a restaurant that serves breakfast to dinner meals, including cocktails and wine, is now where People’s Palace’s chefs will be serving the same Thai curries and stir-fried dishes.
Chef Kerwin Go of People’s Palace told Nolisoli that there is no specific date yet for when they will be opening their doors to the public again. “We are not permanently closing,” he said. “We are just waiting for a more favorable time to start our mall operations. We just opened Blackbird yesterday for guests to dine with us. While People’s is closed, we are offering a few of the dishes in Blackbird.”
“We don’t have a specific date yet as we are waiting for the ease of restrictions from the government,” Go added.
You can avail of their dishes through Blackbird’s website.
“Please keep well and we look forward to seeing you again once this is all over,” the People’s Palace team writes in their closing statement.
