This edible wreath is the holiday game-changer your Christmas table needs | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Of all the food trends that popped up this quarantine, there’s a special place in my heart for decorative AND edible pastries like the “boucake” and the wildly Instagrammable shortbread cookies embedded with flowers. This new food innovation, however, will blow your mind and kick your tired-ass Christmas wreath back into the baul where it belongs: presenting—an edible wreath of pull-apart brioche with brie in the center.

Yep, it’s shaped like a wreath and I don’t know about you, but I can totally see myself hanging this by the kitchen door or maybe as a Christmas dinner centerpiece. The Daily Knead makes them as part of its holiday offerings. It has layers of garlic, rosemary, walnuts and dried cranberries, which complements the creamy and rich brie. Here’s a tip: Drizzle honey to inject sweetness to the savory cheese.

Previously known for its gooey, chocolatey babkas—I can attest to this—The Daily Knead has since expanded its menu to include Christmas-themed bakes. Along with the brie and brioche wreath (P1,000), there’s also the Jamon Manchego ensaymada (P990/box of six) that’s overflowing with grated aged manchego and topped with Jamón Serrano, and a grazing box (P3,500) that comes with cheddar, brie, aged manchego gran reserva, Jamón Serrano, chocolates, walnuts, cranberries, Palawan honey and slices of its famous chocolate brioche babka.
