Good Food Sundays is back at the Mandala Park | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Good Food Sundays at the Mandala Park in Mandaluyong is a haven for vegans and those who want to live with little environmental impact. Thanks to its merchants that range from plant-based food businesses to sustainable lifestyle brands, the weekend fair has earned a loyal following.

Ritual, one of Good Food Sundays fixtures is also back with their range of sustainable household and personal hygiene products as well as food.

After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Good Food Sundays is back this May 29. But other than its partner concessionaires (primarily familiar and beloved brands along with new ones), there will also be talks and free workshops.

Sama-samang Artista para sa Kilusang Agraryo (SAKA), an anti-feudal alliance of artists and cultural workers advocating genuine agrarian reform (who also shared their langkatsu recipe with Nolisoli) will be holding a Filipino peasant and farmers situationer. SAKA is behind pro-peasant and farmers initiatives that uplift low-income communities through education and mobilization.

For this talk, they will discuss the current state of farmers in the country, how they are selling their produce, and the intersection of food security and peasant rights.

There will also be a free noodle-making workshop with Mandaluyong-based ramen maker Dwight Ramen. It will teach us the joy of making our own food, as well as the possibilities of incorporating local ingredients in your ramen and how we can move from a dependence on imported wheat.

Marketgoers can also attend an onsite composting class with Urban Garden and Down to Earth.

Good Food Sundays is on every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here are some of the merchants you can expect:

The Real Happy Cow

Miuccia Luxe Cakes

Greenery Kitchen

Figgs Kombucha

Taron’s Kitchen
