Rabin Angeles is on a roll. He’s also going places—literally and metaphorically.
The 20-year-old star of “Ang Mutya ng Section E” isn’t just moving classrooms (specifically in VivaOne’s adaptation of the Wattpad series “Seducing Drake Palma”) but he’s also making his moves in the entertainment industry.
“Nagulat na lang ako,” he says to Scout during our cover story interview about bagging the Drake Palma role, the first time he will lead a series. “Nasanay ako na dati, ’pag may project ako, sobrang konti lang ng exposure ko do’n, tapos maghihintay ako ng another six months bago magkaroon ulit ng bagong exposure, so sanay ako na ganun[…] Kaya nagulat ako sa ‘Drake Palma,’ agad agad meron.”

Well, judging from his perseverance and indomitable spirit in an industry that can sometimes be cruel, it was only about time that Rabin Angeles, the golden boy of the moment, got his due.
Angeles is proof that the road to overnight success isn’t linear—more often than not, it’s paved with hard work and heartbreak. But, as long as you put in the work and remain grounded, in the end, it will all be worth it.
