Billiard balls are set to roll once again as the Reyes Cup returns to Manila for its second run this Oct. 16 to 19 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, featuring some of the world’s billiards icons.
Founded by Matchroom Multi Sport in 2024 and co-produced by Puyat Sports, the Reyes Cup is a tribute to Filipino sports legend and maestro of billiards, Efren “Bata” Reyes. The highly-anticipated event unites world-class billiards players to showdown in a tournament, with Team Asia and Team Rest of the World going head-to-head in a fierce competition for the championship.
Among the tactical captains are Filipino cue phenom Francisco “Django” Bustamante, who will lead Team Asia while former US Open Champion Jeremy Jones takes the helm for Team of the Rest of the World.
Both teams consist of a star-studded lineup of cue masters, including Carlo Biado—who is currently ranked No.2 on the World Nineball Tour—alongside 18-year-old pool prodigy and Bustamante’s first pick AJ Manas (more famously known as “Starboy”), Johann Chua, Aloysius Yapp, Duong Quoc Hoang, and Ko Pin Yi representing Team Asia while Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, David Alcaide, Eklent Kaçi, Mickey Krause, and Jayson Shaw competes for the Team Rest of the World.
In last year’s inaugural match, Team Asia defeated Team Europe, 11-6, and are now back to defend their title against a new set of contenders from around the world, including the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and more.
More than the sport itself, the Reyes Cup is a testament to the country’s enduring passion for billiards and its legacy that continues to inspire generations of pool players and fans across the globe.
The four-day tournament kicks off at 7:00 p.m., with ticket prices ranging from P1,200 to P8,600.
