Help save the world in more ways than one with these Earth Hour events

Play your part in saving the environment and enjoy yourself while you’re at it

Collectively turning off the lights for an hour every year does little to curb environmental degradation, strictly speaking. But Earth Hour goes far beyond the specifics and benefits of shutting off the lights, and its proponents aren’t delusional enough to think that’s all we need to do.

Rather, it’s a testament to collective unity and the power of global cooperation—because if we can all come together to close all our lights for an hour, imagine what more we can do for the environment.

On March 28, 2026, take part in the Earth Hour festivities by joining any of these events. From performances by your favorite OPM artists to community activations, who knew saving the environment could be this fun?

In partnership with the Pasig City local government, WWF-Philippines is holding this year’s Earth Hour celebration at ArcoVia City. The main event? Special performances by The Ridleys, Clara Benin, and Lola Amour as they count down to 8:30 p.m.

“One hour may feel small in the face of something as big as the climate crisis, but it’s in these moments, when people come together, that something begins to shift. Awareness. Connection. And the feeling that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves,” writes WWF-PH on Instagram.

This year’s Earth Hour event at Rizal Park is all about the environment, and the activities the National Parks Development Committee has prepared invite participants to reflect on what they can personally do for the Earth.

Among these activities are a Tree of Habits Installation where visitors can write one habit they’ll switch on for the environment and hang it on the tree, and a screening of the film, “The Foresters: A Story of Climate Keepers.”
