Following the launch of Rocio Zobel’s newest brand, Cala, summer takes on a new meaning. Just like how swimsuits are a creative expression of who we are and how we like to carry ourselves, the season embraces slow living, intentional dressing, and the beauty of becoming.
With a name derived from the coastal town of Calatagan—a place that Zobel holds close to her heart—Cala is the embodiment of what it means to live in harmony and to dress in harmonious pieces that move with you.
Its inaugural collection, Likha, echoes this—by beginning at the source, where material and craftsmanship meet, with resortwear pieces that carry subtle elements of weaving, and integrate natural elements like shells, bamboo wood, and beading.

What’s your favorite summer drink?
A tinto de verano or a vodka Sprite. Piña colada in the daytime!
Black or white?
White, but I’m getting into black now.
Favorite summer destination?
South of Spain. Particularly Sotogrande, Ibiza… even Capri is amazing. Any of those spots.
Favorite summer dish?
I’m a soup person. Like a cold soup is what I like. Lunchtime by the pool, cold soup.
Who is the Cala girl?
It’s like my friends and I. It’s not anyone that’s more dressed up than the average or anything like that, just someone that’s into comfort, tanning ‘cause all the cuts are for a good tan line, and it’s super comfortable. You can play watersports, you can jump in the water, it’s not a costume kind of swimsuit.
What’s your go-to summer scent?
I’ve been really into the Miss Dior perfume. I know there’s like three different ones, but mine’s the oldest one with the baby pink bottle. I’m super into it right now.
What’s your summer SPF?
You know I’m not an SPF person. I’m a tanning oil SPF [person]. I use Maui Babe, but it has no SPF (smiles), but it’s amazing. Best color, best tan. I’m not an SPF person, unfortunately.
What’s on your summer playlist?
It really depends [on] where I am. If it’s Ibiza, then house music. If not, I’m into reggaeton music in the summer.
How about your favorite DJ?
Not anymore. They all play each other’s songs (smile).
