World Street Food Congress pushes through in Manila in October | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

World Street Food Congress (WSFC) is returning this year to Manila in October. It will be held in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, the organizers announced on Facebook last week.

“This year’s WSFC’s theme, ‘Street Food Roads to Success’ at the World Street Food Dialogue, will be about inspirations and opportunities because there is a universe of platforms and offers out there for talents in this field,” they wrote on their social media page.

“There is also a long list of people who have taken that route to success and have delicious stories to share.”

Last year, the “most important gastronomy congress” was canceled due to circumstances beyond their control. But we assumed it was the same reason behind Madrid Fusion’s cancellation—“the present administration, it seemed, did not really appreciate the project,” writes Margaux Salcedo on Inquirer.net. “Many are of the impression the government is spending so much money promoting other cultures.”

In 2017, WSFC brought the late food TV personality and author Anthony Bourdain and inspired professionals and amateurs in the food and beverage industry.
