I’m glad “The Little Prince” is now on Netflix - Scout Magazine

OCTOBER 27, 2022

I have not read or watched “The Little Prince.” You know when people say, “oh, this is my childhood!” I can’t relate to that. I was too busy collecting “The Powerpuff Girls” teks and stickers from the local sari-sari store.

All I know was that this piece of fiction was a tearjerker. In order to combat this two-decade FOMO, I will finally watch “The Little Prince,” which is readily available on Netflix right now.

Last night, Netflix revealed that the film based on the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry classic is now ready for streaming. I have no context on what “The Little Prince” is about but I feel for its legion of followers who freaked out over this announcement.

This 2015 film adaptation stars Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Bud Cort, Marion Cotillard, Benicio del Toro, James Franco and more Hollywood greats. In this film, we follow a young girl alongside The Aviator who teaches her the importance of human connections. And in this year of social distancing, isn’t that a lesson we must all remember?

I am clueless about what to expect from this film. But as they always say, better late than never right? Please try to stop me if this film gets way too emotional and I’ll end up using two-ply tissue papers for my tears.

Watch “The Little Prince” here.
