What’s more “Halloween” than a good ’ol fashioned spiritual possession? Nothing. That’s as good as it gets. And if you’re on the lookout for the less fictional sort, a new documentary is coming to streaming screens that puts local exorcism on center stage.
Produced by iWant TFC, “Baffling Cases: Sanib” is a 38-minute docu that looks at the mysteries behind local exorcisms and what they could mean for different belief systems and religions. Among those featured are cultural anthropologist Felipe Jocano Jr., Catholic priest Fr. Felipe Pedraja, faith healer Mary Cuevas and Islamic exorcist Aleem Sulaiman Laguindab. They’ll be interviewed alongside folks who have experienced some of the most sus cases of spiritual possession in the Philippines.
“Baffling Cases: Sanib” will start streaming this Halloween, Oct. 31, available for standard and premium subscribers of iWant TFC. The series is viewable through the app or the site, but viewers outside the Philippines can also check it out on The Filipino Channel on cable or IPTV starting Nov. 1.
