Talk to ‘Train to Busan’s’ producer in this Korean film masterclass - SCOUT

OCTOBER 27, 2022

On a mission to crack the code behind Korean cinema’s global success? A good first step is to learn from its producers. Case in point: LeeDong-ha, the executive producer of bloody thrillers “Train to Busan” and “Peninsula.”

As part of this year’s ASEAN-ROK Film Workshop series, Lee will hold a Korean Cinema Masterclass on July 28, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. KST (4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Philippines). With “Train to Busan” and “Peninsula” scoring worldwide attention and the former even turning into a household name, the Red Peter Film CEO is set to answer questions on how to send a film out to the world. Or, maybe, how to successfully start a zombie film agenda? All you need is a Zoom account.

Before the masterclass session, this workshop series hosted by the Korean Film Council will also be holding a film cooperation forum from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Philippines) where film experts from the ASEAN community will propose plans on pushing Asian cinema’s boundaries post-pandemic.

To count yourself in, send your name, organization, email address, and contact number to [email protected]. Hurry, because registration’s only until tomorrow, July 23 at 12 p.m.
