Solaire turns 8, and there’s so much reason to celebrate | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

It’s true: Human beings are creatures of comfort, and this craving is hardwired in everyone since birth. Whether longing for rest and recreation or simple things like your favorite cup of coffee or a freshly baked batch of bread, there’s a quiet contentment that comes with getting your hands on what you’ve wanted.

This same feeling is echoed even in more lavish experiences and one could argue that a staycation at a resort like Solaire, which is celebrating its eighth year in the industry, can only heighten the sense of satisfaction and feeling of fulfillment humans crave.

After all, the country’s only Filipino-owned-and-operated luxury property has earned its reputation as a multi-awarded integrated destination resort.

But instead of resting on its laurels, Solaire remains committed to the quality service and drive for excellence it strives for when it first came on the scene.

Hospitality at its finest

Since it opened in March 2013, Solaire has raised the bar higher with its distinctive brand of Filipino hospitality, unique service, and luxurious facilities.

“Solaire’s eight-year journey has truly been a source of inspiration for us,” says Thomas Arasi, President and Chief Operating Officer of Solaire and Bloomberry Resorts Corporation. “Guided by the vision of our Chairman Mr. Enrique K. Razon, Jr., we’ve achieved feats that have placed us in the league of longstanding integrated resorts.”

And this isn’t captured any more than in the awards accumulated in the last three years such as the G2E Asia Award for Best Regional Asian Integrated Resort in 2019, Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice in 2020 and the Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star award for its 17-story Sky Tower in 2021—its fourth after receiving its first 5-Star recognition in 2017.

Excellence into the new normal

While the new normal has posed many challenges, the resort has neither backed down nor wavered in its midst. As a testament to the property’s extraordinary efforts to ensure guests’ safety, Solaire was awarded the Sharecare VERIFIED™ with Forbes Travel Guide health security badge, and the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council. Locally, the resort has also received the Safety Seal Certification from the Department of Tourism and became the first recipient of the Thomas Edison Recognition Award from Intertek Philippines for its compliance with strict international health and safety measures.

Solaire’s safety campaign, “Solaire Is Safe For You”, shows the enhanced safety and hygiene protocols the property has adopted which have also received the Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED™ with Forbes Travel Guide badge.

“The challenges we faced have made us more resilient during great adversity and uncertainty. The successes we’ve had would not have been possible without the perseverance of every single team member who has dedicated themselves to place Solaire at the pinnacle of hospitality in the Philippines,” says Arasi.

A leveled-up lifestyle

From its upscale in-house restaurants to its high-end retail stores, Solaire gives room for every kind of creature of comfort.

The food stories at the resort set a high benchmark and span across the globe—from Yakumi, Waterside and Red Lantern, to Finestra Italian Steakhouse and Fresh International Buffet—that the experience itself is akin to a culinary adventure without leaving the heart of the metro.

Fashion retail is just as thriving at The Shoppes with the first and only boutiques of KENZO, Dior, Fendi, and Versace rounding out the roster of exclusive brands.

To eight years and beyond

“As we commemorate our eighth anniversary, we also thank and celebrate our team members and our partners who consistently provide the best and most outstanding service to our guests and patrons who continue to trust and support us,” says David Batchelor, SVP for Resort Operations.

Sure, Solaire has deftly built a spectacular space for itself in the industry over the last eight years but there are no signs of stopping even amid an unprecedented period in history.

“We remain optimistic and steadfast because of the unwavering commitment and belief given to our brand. We look forward to the future and what we will achieve next,” says Batchelor.
