Need something new to watch? Stream these theater shows this July | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

We’ve been at home and out of the theater for 466 days now, but the local theater industry is proving there’s nothing that can stop them from creating and performing. From this weekend through July, several new shows will be going online, while one of the most popular original Filipino musicals will also be making its online streaming debut in August.

If you’re tired of surfing through Netflix, here are some theater productions to catch.

Rak of Aegis

PETA’s hit jukebox musical, “Rak of Aegis,” will finally be streamed on July 31, August 1, 7, and 8. Featuring the iconic music of the band Aegis, “Rak” tells the tale of a flooded barangay’s resilience and sense of community.

Tickets for live, video on demand, and premium streaming are available on Ticket2Me.

Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons

In partnership with Stages Sessions, Menez Media, and the Theater Actors Guild, CAST (Company of Actors in Streamlined Theater) will be “staging” Sam Steiner’s “Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons,” starring Nelsito Gomez and Gabby Padilla.

The play explores what it would be like if we had a limit to the words we could say.

Tickets will be available on Ticket2Me on June 30.

Prinsipe Bahaghari

“Prinsipe Bahaghari” is Vladimeir Gonzales’s adaptation of “The Little Prince.” Staged by Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas, the play features the use of puppetry in telling the tale of the little prince’s quest across the universe in search of a companion to help him care for his flower at home. The play comes right in time for the celebration of the 121st birth anniversary of “The Little Prince” author, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry on June 29.

Tickets are available on Ticket2Me.

The Big One-Oh!

Based on the novel “The Big One-Oh” by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford, this musical adaptation is Atlantis Theatrical’s advanced musical theater virtual workshop recital. The story revolves around the friendless Charley Maplewood, who throws his own birthday party—but not everything goes according to plan.

Tickets are available on KTX.ph.
