Honorato Lozano watercolors sold out in Leon Gallery’s ‘Spectacular’ auction | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

“FILIPINA,” by Fabian de la Rosa
“T’BOLI Man,” by Victorio Edades

Leon Gallery’s “Spectacular Midyear Auction” brought in spectacular results; a sell-out sale sent avid collectors snapping up choice and select artworks. Impressive were the leaps that led to their final hammer prices. As expected, the José Honorato Lozano watercolors yielded up to 10 times their opening bids.

In that league, too, was Victorio Edades’ “T’Boli Man.” Fabian de la Rosa’s exquisite “Filipina” was among the rare pieces with prices that promptly soared.

Other favored works by Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Carlos “Botong” Francisco, J. Elizalde Navarro, National Artists all, sold just as briskly. Perennial auction favorite Ronald Ventura was represented by a surprisingly small but superlative work.

Consignments of artworks are now being accepted and readied for the next auction scheduled for September.
