MANILA, Philippines—Smokers who want to kick the habit can now seek help in smoking cessation clinics now open in several government hospitals in the country.
“I just want to inform everyone that government hospitals in Metro Manila and hospitals in the provinces are now offering free services to those seeking help, medically and psychologically, on quitting smoking,” Health Secretary Enrique Ona said at a press briefing Tuesday.
In Metro Manila, Ona said that several smoking cessation clinics are located at Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Caloocan City, Amang Rodriquez Memorial Hospital in Marikina, Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City, San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital in Malabon City, the Philippine General Hospital in Manila, and St. Luke’s Medical Center and Quirino Memorial Medical Center, both in Quezon City.—Niña P.
