JONATHAN Rañola is back at Art Elements Asian Gallery this month with his figurative portraits in acrylic and pen set amid flora and fauna on canvas and on wood.

His exhibit, “Under Tall Shady Trees,” showcases his unique stippling technique using acrylic and pen and ink to create densities of points for texture and volume.

His solitary images of women and children embraced by flowers and leaves and sometimes birds peeking in between reflect the bucolic way of life in his native Bulacan. His poetic visions are inspired by his dreams, thoughts, memories and narratives he was told and he had read.
