AGENT Peggy Carter, Marvel’s chic and classy secret agent played onscreen by the gorgeous Hayley Atwell, seems to have inspired many fashionistas at the recent AsiaPOP Comicon Manila to go for the 1940s style throwback.

Not everybody can wear the full-on postwar-era look, but it’s easy to pick out and choose from its basic details.

There’s the hourglass silhouette emphasized with a nipped-in waist, an A-line skirt and flouncy hemline. Got only modern items in the closet? Nail it with either a belted midlength skater dress or a tee-and-midi combo.

Pops of color, especially red, are best on lips, nails or unique accessories. But, if you’ve got guts to wear scarlet head to toe, then go for it.

Up top, add a classic fedora or style hair into retro curls. The latter, especially, is the perfect foil to a masculine or androgynous getup.
