Last week, the internet nearly went frantic when samples of “Harry Potter” eye-shadow palettes exploded on social networking site Reddit. However, it soon dawned on netizens that the photos were merely Photoshopped designs.
Good news, Harry Potter cosmetics have actually existed for months already.
Shiro Cosmetics, a makeup company based in Oregon, USA, debuted its whimsical and mythical line-up called “Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles” as early as 2015. It featured 27 Harry Potter-themed cosmetic items with 20 eye-shadow powders, five lip glosses and two face powders. As identified by makeup blog Self, all of the eye shadows in this wizardly bunch have earth tones and the lip glosses will lusciously coat ladies’ lips with syrupy liquid.
Likewise, the names of the products are twisted to cater to Harry Potter fans’ hankerings. Bestsellers such as “Have a Biscuit, Potter” eye shadow, “White Chocolate Frog” powder and “Butterbeer” lip gloss dominate the list.

Meanwhile, another cosmetic company called Storybook Cosmetics is marketing an exquisite “gang” of Harry Potter makeup brushes that will go hand in hand with the earth-toned bronzers by Shiro Cosmetics. Prices have yet to be released, however.

The “Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles” collection comes at an affordable price that will not burden shoppers with a tight budget. The face powders retail at around $9 (P435), the lip glosses are priced at $9-10 (P435 -483), and the eyeshadows at $6.50 (P314). Gianna Francesca Catolico
