Unique Salonga, vocals of IV Spades, has been reportedly missing a couple of gigs. By a couple, we mean a lot. This news obviously did not please IV of Spades fans. (I mean, who would be?) In fact, it made them go cray and trigger a shit storm.
This is precisely why we are writing this article: we want to remind you that adoring someone for their art does not give you the right to meddle in their personal lives.
This is precisely why we are writing this article: we want to remind you that adoring someone for their art does not give you the right to meddle in their personal lives. Yes, they may be talented and hardworking, but they are not superhuman whose only function is to please you; they are ordinary people like you and me. They wake up, go to school or work, and even take a dump.
More importantly, fans should take note that these “idols” are allowed to have problems outside of the band and their fanbase. We’re familiar with their struggles as a band, but their personal lives are theirs to touch. Not ours.
The icing on top of this foul-tasting cake? Out of dying anticipation and curiosity, a fan had messaged Unique’s mom to spill out the details. The screenshots of this conversation have circulated on twitter:

Soon enough, it caused an array of arguments between people who believe that they are entitled to the truth, and those who think they are crossing the line. These tweets caught our attention, and they should catch yours too.
jesus christ iv of spades fandom literally nobody from the band owes you a detailed explanation of personal issues, even moreso any of their MOMS

i like iv of spades. they’re very talented and hardworking. sucks that the band has to get involved in unnecessary drama :^( and that it has to involve family. i hope fans (no matter how big of a fan u are) realize that this should probably be handled privately https://t.co/01tIxcYqKH

@IVOFSPADES fans.. Please stay out of the their personal lives. Thats out of your jurisdiction. Please stay in your lane.

These tweets (above) come from people who are part of the local music industry, so they speak in common grounds with the band. This move of getting Unique’s mom involved, however, created a bad impression from other twitter users.
i officially hate the iv of spades fandom for continuously bothering unique's family about his status with the band

On a brighter note, not all fans share the same sentiment. Here are some who maintained their levelheadedness throughout this catastrophe and serve as great examples to all of us:

To all the fans out there: We stand with you in times like this. However, let’s not fight fire with fire. Let’s create an organic unity where respect, adoration, and the right to privacy should fall into place.
We are awaiting a statement from IV of Spades’ management.
