Two millennial “Chinoys” now have the responsibility of promoting the Chinese-Filipino heritage in the country.

 

Jacob Muñez and Joy Wu were proclaimed  2017 Mister and Miss Chinatown, respectively, at the pageant’s coronation ceremonies staged at The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City  Friday night.

 

Fifteen male and 15 female contestants competed for the twin titles.

 

Martin Sy and Angela Elpa, meanwhile, finished as first runners up.

 

Allen Wu and Kelcy Ongkeko completed the circle of winner as second runners up.

 

Wu, who represented the Chinese-Filipino community in Davao City, will compete in the 2018 Miss Chinese International pageant in Hong Kong.

 

The 2017 Mister and Miss Chinatown coronation ceremonies will have a delayed telecast on ABS-CBN’s “Sunday’s Best” spot on Sept. 10
