Christmas comes to McKinley Hill in spectacular fashion with the Grand Christmas Parade. Here are some facts you need to know about this must-see holiday attraction.
Start Time:
The Grand Christmas Parade will march at McKinley Hill on December 9, 5:00PM onwards.
Where to Watch:
Spectators can watch along the 3.5km stretch. However, the best spot to see the Grand Christmas Parade are at the spectators’ areas located at the Venice Grand Canal drop off point and in front of Tim Hortons.
The Line-Up:
Colorful performers and characters are set to participate in the Grand Christmas Parade which includes giant helium balloons and mascots of iconic Christmas characters such as the Drummer Boy, The Nutcracker, Snowman, Gingerbread Man, Reindeer, Elf and the Venice Grand Canal Gondolier.
Spectators will also marvel at more than 20 Italian and Holiday-inspired floats such as a Venetian Mask, a Snow Globe, Gondola, Gingerbread House, Santa Sleigh, along with floats from partner establishments like Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Kuya J, Buddy’s, Jollibee, Pizza Hut, PikNik, Miniso, and Crystal Clear.
Kids will also have something to look forward to at the Grand Parade which will feature the largest gathering of hit children’s show characters. Joining the march are 30 popular mascots including RoboCar Poli, PJ Masks, Pikachu, Peppa Pig & George, Silvanian Families, Pinypon, Playmobil, the Grossery Gang, Leap Frog and other Christmas characters.
15 Venetian street performers, jugglers, stilt walkers and acrobats are also joining the parade, backed by a 150-member marching band that will entertain spectators.
Finally, partner universities, dancers and athletes will also showcase their talents, including students from Enderun Pep Squad, UP Drumline, UP Pep Squad, UP Football, DHL Pep Squad and the Philippine Dragons Football Team.
