SHINee’s fandom was sent into overdrive this week. This after the South Korean boy band’s agency SM Entertainment put out a teaser last Wednesday for the upcoming sixth full-length album. The teaser made absolutely no sense, but fan theories have deciphered every aspect of its design.

The geometric design is in the primary colors of blue, yellow and red. At the top are stylized photo of the Key, Onew, Taemin and Minho walking. At the bottom, there’s a yellow triangle, blue circle and red square. The shapes represent three albums the boy band will launch on three separate dates.

To add to the frenzy, Key posts on his Instagram (@bumkeyk) an almost similar teaser. The difference is that there is a sitting red fox on what appears to be a corner of a room. The only caption in the post is “we’re back.” That spawned more theories by itself.

What we know for sure is that the three albums are collectively known as “The Story of Light.” They are separated as Ep. 1, Ep. 2 and Ep 3. Ep. 1 will be released on May 28. The next two EPs are set to be released on June 11 and 25.

The Ep. 1’s title song, “Good Evening,” will be launched next Sunday during the scheduled fan meet in celebration of SHINee’s 10th anniversary. The song was composed and arranged by The Fliptones, but Key and Minho collaborated for the rap part in the song.

Last Friday, SHINee launched an interactive website that allows fans to pick six colors. Each color corresponds to a song. Once https://www.facebook.com/INQSUPERHallyuthe six is complete, they become a playlist that you can share on your social media.
Shawols (group’s fandom) are encouraged to purchase from sites that count toward Hanteo and Gaon music charts. The charts are the basis for music awards given to K-pop groups like in Inkigayo and the daesang.

For the Philippines’ celebration of SHINee’s 10th anniversary, PH Shawols is hosting a DVD Block Screening of “SHINee World V” at SM Megamall Cinema 12 on Jun. 9 at 10 a.m. Tickets are at P300 and include SHINee merch of LED bracelet, ecobag and canvas pouch.
