To this day, actress Mylene Dizon still can’t accept the fact that her home network ABS-CBN was denied a franchise renewal.

Dizon expressed her disappointment when asked about her thoughts on the issue, during the online press conference for “My Sunset Girl” last July 6. It has been a year since the Kapamilya network was denied a franchise renewal by the government.

“Siyempre, hanggang ngayon ay malaking kawalan pa rin. A big chunk of our company is not operating, ‘di ba? We are still not able to relay news na dapat ay naihahayag natin,” she said.

(Of course until now it is still a huge loss. A big chunk of our company is not operating, right? We are still not able to relay news which we must be delivering.)

“That I am still naiinis about it. I am still going to fight with ABS-CBN para maibalik iyon,” the actress added. (That I am still resentful about it. I am still going to fight with ABS-CBN to retrieve that [franchise].)

She explained that she and her fellow Kapamilya continue working to support each other.

“We’re not just doing this for ourselves. I’m not doing this for myself. I’m doing it for everybody, for the company,” she said. “It’s not something to laugh about na ‘o, ok lang ‘yan, you’ll survive.’ I’ve been with ABS [for] years so ang tagal-tagal ko na doon.” (It’s not something to laugh about and go, “Oh, that’s ok, you’ll survive.” I’ve been with ABS-CBN for years, I’ve been with the network for so long.)
