Joshua Garcia does not seem to know how to react on reports that the sultry actress Ivana Alawi has a crush on him, but he’s open to starting a friendship with her.

“Ako, kapag may humanga sa akin, nakakadagdag ng confidence ‘yun, ‘di ba, para sa lalaki? Hindi ko alam ang reaction ko,” came the actor’s sheepish reaction to a query during the online press conference for his new series “Viral Scandal,” yesterday, Oct. 19.

(As for me, when I have admirers, it boosts my confidence. Doesn’t it? For men? I don’t know how to react.)

“Siyempre, thank you kasi naa-appreciate niya ‘yung work ko na ginagawa. Base sa nakita ko at narinig ko, sabi niya na-appreciate niya nga daw ang acting ko. Thankful ako as an actor. Maraming salamat. I am open na maging kaibigan,” Garcia said.

(Of course, thank you for her appreciation of the work I do. Based on what I’ve seen and heard, she said she appreciates my acting. I’m thankful as an actor. Thanks a lot. I am open to being friends.)

“Viral Scandal,” which tells the story of a young woman who got embroiled in a sex scandal, also stars Charlie Dizon, Dimples Romana, Jake Cuenca, Maxene Magalona, Kaila Estrada, Gian Magdangal and Markus Paterson. It will premiere on Nov. 15 on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant TFC and A2Z channel 11.

Garcia plays Kyle Constantino, an architect, in the series. In connection with the show’s themes, when asked about what he learned and what advice he could give to victims of fake news, Garcia reminded people to be careful who they deal with.

“Ang maibibigay ko lang na payo sa kanila is mag-ingat sila sa nakapaligid sa kanila kasi siyempre ang hirap ding magtiwala ngayon. Hindi mo alam kung sino ang puwedeng sumaksak sa iyo patalikod, eh. Dapat mag-ingat tayo. Alamin natin ‘yung tamang kaibigan,” he said.
