When it comes to peanut butter, we all pretty much have our own preference; some prefer a smooth, creamy spread, while others might prefer bits of crushed nuts mixed in for an added crunch. Those distinct blue, red, and green-lidded peanut butter jars stacked on the shelves of supermarkets and groceries are great and all, but sometimes it’s nice to change it up a bit.
Whether you’re looking for healthier alternatives or just want to try something new, you don’t have to look far because there are a variety of nut butters available in the local market. Here are a few you can check out. But be warned: just because they’re healthier, doesn’t mean you can eat them by the jar.
7Grains Pantry
Aptly named the Good Peanut Butter, it’s made with freshly roasted peanuts and coconut sap sugar, which is said to give it a faint taste of coconut and chocolate. Churned with no added oil, this low-glycemic peanut butter would make a great healthy alternative to your favorite spread.

Rose’s Kitchen
If you’re getting tired of peanut butter, then maybe you’d like to try a different variant of nut; Rose’s Kitchen ditches the peanuts, instead opting for cashews, almonds, and even pili nuts, creating unique flavors like: Vanilla Cashew, Creamy Pili Cashew, Cinnamon Almond Cashew, Roasted Almond, and Coconut Pili Almond. These vegan spreads contain no refined sugar or preservatives, containing only two to five locally-sourced ingredients per flavor. Those on a keto or paleo diet might want to try the Roasted Almond.

If you’re looking to reduce your sugar intake, Planted Seeds has a sugar-free alternative for you to try. But these all-natural, vegetarian- and vegan-friendly spreads come in a variety of fun flavors. For something really unique, try the Green Crunch peanut butter; it combines matcha and malunggay powder for a tasty and antioxidant-rich peanut spread. And for peanut butter purists, they’ve also got a 100% peanut option, with no added salt or sugar.
