We. Freakin’. Love. Uniqlo. We can’t stress that enough.
This Japanese retail brand always impresses us with every line of shirts they release. Do you remember the #JoyFitsAll Jollibee UTs? That was pure genius. And well, Uniqlo is at it again.
This time, they teamed up with spoken word artists Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye to create #PoetryBeyondthePage. Don’t know who these two are? Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye are (no, they’re not siblings, or married, or in a relationship) poets, popular for their hilarious spoken word performances and their Project V.O.I.C.E. (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression), which by the way made it’s way to Manila in 2015.
With #PoetryBeyondthePage, their lines from their poems are now re-imagined into 8 different graphic tee designs. So, good bye statement shirts, and hello poeTEEs (I tried).
The shirts are already available in the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Japan. The Philippines has to wait a little bit more, but we’re sure fans of Kay and Kaye will definitely get their poetry when it’s released here, but for the meantime, we’re giving Uniqlo our piece of mind with the top three poems we’d like to see on #PoetryBeyondthePage.
A shirt that says “If you repeat something over and over again it loses its meaning” in the front and “homework homework homework homework homework” in the back.
“Roses are red, violets are blue, my poetry sucks and it’s all thanks to you!” please or “because you’ve got me watching the stars!”
“I will meet you for the first time again and again” awww.
