The “Spider-Man” movie franchise may have cut its ties with the MCU, but Peter Parker’s best friend Ned is making his own homecoming—and on the country’s longest running sketch show.

Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon will guest star in the 24th anniversary of “Bubble Gang,” as announced by the show’s mainstay Michael V. “I think I know why Marvel hired Jacob Batalon to play Ned Leeds in ‘Spider-Man,’” the comedian said. “The character requires a ‘nice guy’ which is what Jacob is on and off cam.”

True to “Bubble Gang” humor, Jacob’s character will be named “Need.” (Like Ned and Leeds together, get it?) The Philippines was the actor’s last stop after making his rounds in Asia as part of his promo tour for the “Far From Home” Blu-ray and DVD release.
“The final leg of this amazing Asia tour, and it was the motherland! Salamat!” He writes on IG. “Next time, I’ll find the time to stay longer and do more. Until next time, [Philippines].”

Previously, Jacob was asked about the Sony/Disney drama over rights to “Spider-Man.” He simply responded that it was “really not a big deal,” followed by a shrugging emoji. While the fate of “Spider-Man” is still up in the air, at least we have “Bubble Gang” antics to keep us sated.
