A new Joel Lamangan film wants to fight historical distortion - Scout Magazine

OCTOBER 27, 2022

As we look back on the events surrounding Martial Law’s 50th anniversary early this year, one director pledged to produce a film that would fight historical distortion. Now, it’s OTW to serve.

Veteran director Joel Lamangan introduced his newest documentary-drama film, “Oras de Peligro,” in a press conference on Oct. 23. According to AlterMidya, it follows the experiences of an urban poor family, four days before the 1986 People Power Revolution happened.

“Oras de Peligro” is written by playwright and martial law survivor Bonifacio Ilagan and screenwriter Eric Ramos, under Atty. Howard Calleja’s Bagong Siklab Productions. Cherry Pie Picache, Allen Dizon, activist Mae Paner, and more will star in the documentary.

“Oras de Peligro” will be hitting cinemas in February 2023, just in time for the 37th commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
