Filipino rock trio Thirds decided to open 2020 with a new track that brings back the spirit of the 2000s. Entitled “York1,” this newly-released single spells romance, unforgettable memories, and a late night neon adventure. We might be ushering in a new decade, but this nostalgic sound can make us bang our heads any time.
As it sings, “we’ve got this chance, we don’t want to waste it,” we get transported to a space of endless possibilities. The track reminds us that nothing happens if we don’t chase after what we want. That’s why—after all the suave bass lines and pumped up drumming—it asks us, ”are you with me, still?” And our answer to that is: yes, we definitely are.
