MITSUKOSHI BGC welcomes the holidays with a touch of Japan

From a cosplay-filled Halloween inspired by Japan’s vibrant anime scene to a heartwarming Christmas celebration led by a certain blue robotic cat, the mall transforms into a cultural playground where pop culture meets tradition in one immersive experience.

The Halloween kickoff

The celebrations begin on Oct. 25, with a Halloween cosplay event by Kayou x CO. the collectible store, a dynamic showcase that merges the energy of Japanese pop culture with the flair of the local creative scene. Designed for cosplayers, anime enthusiasts, and youth creators, the event transforms MITSUKOSHI BGC into a vibrant world of color, art, and fantasy.

Kayou, one of China’s most influential brands in the pan-entertainment industry, takes the spotlight with its mission of “quality and fun.” Known for its innovation in animation and creative stationery, Kayou brings to life the imaginative worlds that inspire fans across Asia. Hero Hub Ventures Inc., one of the brand’s official Philippine distributors, also joins forces with MITSUKOSHI BGC to offer guests a weekend filled with artistic expression and community, inviting cosplayers to join the fun and showcase their creativity.

The fun continues on Oct. 26, with “Halloween Trick or Treat: No Tricks, Just Treat!” in partnership with Little Pearls Nursery. Reflecting Little Pearls’ child-centered approach to learning, this event captures the joyful, family-oriented heart of Filipino celebrations. Families and young visitors can enjoy a day of play and discovery through themed photobooths, face painting, arts and crafts, and interactive game booths like Spin the Wheel, Turtle Race, and Shoot the Hoop.

A sparkling Christmas adventure

After a weekend filled with fantasy and fun, MITSUKOSHI BGC officially ushers in the holiday season with “A Sparkling Christmas Adventure.” Happening from Nov. 1 to Jan. 12, 2026, the campaign invites visitors to feel and experience Japan this Christmas through a magical celebration that beautifully blends Japanese artistry with the warmth of Filipino holiday spirit.

Mark your calendars for “A Sparkling Holiday: Christmas Lighting Celebration” on Nov. 4, at 5:30 PM, as MITSUKOSHI BGC officially lights up the season. The evening will feature a grand lighting ceremony, chorale performances, and a special meet-and-greet with a very familiar blue friend.

As part of the Sparkling Holiday Celebration, guests can look forward to a joyful lineup of performances that capture the season’s festive spirit. The merriment begins with Japanese kids’ dance performances from LIV Dance Academy on Nov. 8 (Saturday) at 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., followed by Dream Girls & Boys on Nov. 16 (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.. Adding to the excitement, the Manila Japanese School will showcase a lively Taiko drum performance on Nov. 23 (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m., filling the air with the powerful rhythms of Japan.

And, of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus himself. Guests can look forward to a cheerful meet-and-greet with the jolly man in red on Dec. 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and again on Dec. 21 and 25 at 6:00 p.m., as he spreads joy and holiday wishes to kids and kids-at-heart.

New Holiday Openings and Experiences

The holiday spirit continues to shine beyond the festivities, as MITSUKOSHI BGC introduces new store openings and seasonal experiences for guests to enjoy throughout the season.

This November, IPPPON-YARI, a beloved Japanese izakaya from Southern Luzon, makes its debut in BGC, bringing authentic flavors and the convivial spirit of Japanese dining to the city. Following soon after, ABC MART opens in mid-December, marking its second branch in the Philippines.

Adding to the excitement, pop-up shops will open throughout the season, featuring Phiten, Kizik, Splingle Move, Gingersnaps, and Theo & Philo. Starting mid-December, guests can also enjoy premium Japanese strawberries, or Ichigo—a sweet holiday treat and a thoughtful gift.

To complete the experience, MITSUKOSHI BGC will offer a Japanese-style Christmas gift wrapping service starting Nov. 25, giving every thoughtful holiday purchase an elegant, distinctly Japanese finishing touch.

A lifestyle that extends beyond celebration

More than a shopping destination, MITSUKOSHI BGC represents a lifestyle shaped by Japanese excellence and Filipino vibrance.
