Dua Lipa is the definition of the cool-girl bride

The Schiaparelli, Bottega Veneta, and Chloé looks behind one of the year's most memorable wedding wardrobes

Celebrity wedding wardrobes often fall into familiar territory. There is the fairytale gown, the vintage lace dress, or the couture creation designed to dominate headlines. Dua Lipa’s wedding celebrations with Callum Turner offered something far more interesting.

The couple officially married in a private civil ceremony in London on May 31 before continuing the festivities with a three-day celebration in Italy surrounded by family and close friends. While details of the wedding itself remained largely under wraps, the fashion moments that emerged from the weekend revealed a bride with a remarkably clear point of view.

Rather than committing to a single bridal aesthetic, Lipa embraced three distinct fashion identities across the celebrations. There was the sharp precision of Schiaparelli, the unabashed glamour of Bottega Veneta, and the free-spirited romance of Chloé. Together, they formed a wedding wardrobe that felt unmistakably her own.

There was no attempt to transform into a traditional bride. Instead, Lipa leaned into the fashion-forward sensibility that has made her one of the most influential dressers of our generation.

Schiaparelli Couture

For the intimate ceremony held at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall, Lipa turned to Schiaparelli Couture and creative director Daniel Roseberry. If bridal style has a cool-girl equivalent, this might be it.

Forgoing a traditional bridal gown, Lipa opted for a tailored ivory cady blazer punctuated by Schiaparelli’s signature sculptural gold buttons and a coordinating asymmetric skirt. Styled with a sweeping Stephen Jones hat, pristine white gloves, and pointed Christian Louboutin pumps, the ensemble balanced old-world elegance with the modern sensibility that has come to define her personal style.

Of all the looks she wore throughout the weekend, this was perhaps the most striking. Not because it was the most elaborate, but because it felt so refreshingly contemporary. At a time when celebrity brides often gravitate toward dramatic trains and voluminous silhouettes, Lipa’s choice of tailoring felt unexpected and incredibly chic.

I truly love how wearable the look feels. While the craftsmanship is unmistakably couture, the silhouette itself feels surprisingly attainable. Brides could easily draw inspiration from the structured blazer and clean lines, or the idea of choosing separates over a conventional wedding gown. It feels youthful, fashion-forward, and most importantly, personal.

Bottega Veneta

For the welcome party in Palermo, Lipa wore what was easily my favorite look of the entire wedding weekend. The custom white Bottega Veneta gown featured a plunging halter neckline, an open back, and the house’s signature Intrecciato weave, which gave the dress a subtle braided texture throughout.

While the Intrecciato weave showcases Bottega Veneta’s renowned craftsmanship, it is the feather-covered skirt that ultimately steals the spotlight. Cascading from the lower half of the gown, the feathers bring softness, movement, and drama to the silhouette, transforming it from a beautifully crafted dress into a true statement piece. Styled with a matching feather-trimmed Andiamo clutch and Bvlgari jewels, the ensemble delivered one of the most memorable fashion moments of the entire wedding weekend.

There’s a certain confidence to choosing a feather-trimmed leather gown for a wedding celebration. It isn’t trying to be timeless or traditional. Instead, it embraces the idea that bridal fashion can be expressive, fashion-forward, and deeply personal. While the Schiaparelli suit may have been the coolest look of the weekend, this was undoubtedly the most glamorous.

Dare I say it, this may be one of my favorite celebrity wedding looks of all time. The feathers add exactly the right amount of drama, without overwhelming the dress itself. It’s glamorous, fun, and unmistakably Dua Lipa, a look that perfectly captures why she has become the blueprint for the modern cool-girl bride.

Chloé

On Sunday, following the previous night’s festivities, Lipa stepped out for a wedding brunch in a white lace Chloé dress that perfectly captured the house’s signature bohemian spirit. Worn over a ruffled white bikini, the sheer gown gave both bridal romance and laid-back coastal glamour.

Dramatic cascading sleeves brought movement and texture to the look, while a swan-shaped Chloé bag and layered pendant necklaces added the finishing touches. Of the three outfits, this was perhaps the most relaxed, yet it never felt like an afterthought. Instead, it reflected the effortless femininity that has become synonymous with Chloé under creative director Chemena Kamali.

What makes the look particularly successful is how naturally it fits within the broader wedding wardrobe. After the sharp tailoring of Schiaparelli and the glamour of Bottega Veneta, the Chloé ensemble offered a softer, more carefree conclusion to the celebrations. Romantic, beachy, and undeniably chic, it felt like the perfect final chapter to an impeccably styled wedding weekend.
