You don’t have to guess who is on the other end of that unknown number.

In order to prepare us for the inevitable change that is to come later on this year, Apple introduced the iOS 9 to the public at the Web Developers Conference yesterday, boasting of the new features it will bring to your devices.

Some standout features include an improved search capability that searches through your email when you get call from a number not in your contacts. Apple also introduced Proactive, a feature that combines the power of Siri, Spotlight search, Maps, and Passport in your calendar so you not only know what your agenda for the day is but also what’s the best route to take and when to leave, so you’ll get there in time. It will also automatically update you with events listed in your email.

For women, the operating system will also be the first from Apple that already includes a period tracker. The improved Apple HealthKit will be able to chart your frequency and flow, a triumph according to some feminists out there.

If you think this all sounds well and good except when it comes to your battery life, Apple has also promised that the iOS will have a low-battery mode to get you through three hours more than usual. The upgrade will also be faster than its current available version, the iOS 8 and 8.0.1 so it would not take as much storage space than before.

Most importantly, Apple promises that your searches will not be accessible to the public. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to stop trying to make Siri your confidant or asking it silly questions.
