Anyone with bank-related concerns won’t need to worry about leaving their homes to file complaints with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) anymore. The central bank is currently pilot testing BSP Online Buddy or BOB, a chatbot that will assist consumers from the comfort of their homes.
In a statement, the regulatory office said that BOB will be handling queries sent to their platforms and assisting customers with their complaints against financial institutions under their supervision. The chatbot is also able to respond to messages sent in English, Tagalog and Taglish.
As of writing, the chatbot is currently accessible through the BSP Webchat or by texting 2158-2277 for Globe subscribers. Standard text messaging and internet data charges apply. After the pilot test, however, the chatbot will be available on BSP’s Facebook page and for other network subscribers.
“Financial consumers are encouraged to use and take advantage of the technology to have an accessible, continuous, timely and efficient platform for escalating complaints against BSP-supervised financial institutions,” the BSP said.
