Illegal aliens and undocumented immigrants in the United States got a shot in the arm recently when President Barack Obama, bucking scathing criticism and threats from hostile Republicans, took executive action to reform and “fix the broken immigration system.”
It has been a “down in the dumps” couple of weeks. Painfully depressing. It is a story that won’t go away. I certainly don’t want to add yet one more voice to the cacophony out there asking questions, speculating and making judgments. But it is difficult to remain silent.
IT’S FATHER’S Day. Here’s a salute and a round of applause for all the dads out there who hardly ever get credit for what they do. Take a bow! We honor them today. Indulge me please while I remember mine.

Tried watching television news the other day. I have been purposely staying away from the tube. Since getting to Atlanta, we have not had too much TV time. There are other more important things to do, like sit and chat into the wee hours.
It is sad when a vacation starts to wind down. But this is a bit different. Three ladies (of age) just landed in Vancouver, British Columbia. and although we can no longer kick up our heels, we are determined to have the best eight days ever.
