Sachiko Miyashita, acclaimed guitarist from Japan, performed to an enthusiastic audience at the Marcelo Fernan Cebu Press Center. She was presented by the Arts Council, the Cebu Luthiers Education Foundation and Guitar Friends. Event chair was Arts Council vice president Maxwell Espina.
Elizabeth Sy, president of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., hosted the second anniversary of the Radisson Blu Hotel. Actually, it was a double celebration, for, as she said, “it’s Christmas, too.”

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu celebrated its first anniversary with one of the grandest parties of the season. The occasion also served to celebrate Christmas. Quite a crowd had gathered at the spacious lobby by 6 p.m.
The Radisson Blu Hotel hosted a “Hail & Farewell” bash in its Niña ballroom, well-attended by personalities from the travel trade, the august media and the glamour crowd. After two and a half years in Cebu, Grant Gaskin has left with a long list of friends, all of whom have wished him “balik-balik.”
