ABSTRACTIONIST Caress Banson pays homage to expressionist great Sansó in “Tribute to Sansó,” March 29-April 6 at the 2/L Atrium of The Podium on ADB Avenue in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The overarching theme of the exhibit is hope. Color is the dominant abstracted component of the exhibition, with Banson using geometric patterns and bold swaths of brushwork to convey a lively and dynamic impression.

Aside from Sansó, Banson draws from the traditions of Bauhaus, Paul Klee and even abstract expressionist Mark Rothko to imbue her canvases with a sense of buoyancy, springing each abstracted object alive with her fantastic eye for detail.

The exhibit is organized by Galerie Joaquin for the benefit of Feeding Metro Manila, a hunger-relief charity organization.
