Prior to Nevada Athletic Commission’s suspension of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Russian fighter threatened to leave UFC if one of his teammates gets punished for what took place in the aftermath of his victory over McGregor in UFC 299.
In his Instagram post yesterday before he was suspended for 10 days, Nurmagomedov once again questioned UFC’s inaction on McGregor’s infamous attack on a bus loaded with fellow fighters last April.

“Why didn’t you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?” asked Nurmagomedov as he also referred to the insults that McGregor threw at him in an effort to heat up their bout. “Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started.”
Nurmagomedov also expressed his willingness to serve any punishment that the UFC and Nevada Athletic Commission will sanction him but raised the fact that if Zabaira Tukhugov—one of the fighters who jumped in on the octagon and threw a punch on McGregor—gets kicked out, he will not think twice about leaving the largest MMA promotion company.
“If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too,” Nurmagomedov said
“In any case, punish me, @zubairatukhugov has nothing to do with that. If you think that I’ll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira’s fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don’t forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video. If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too,” Nurmagomedov said.
Until now, the Nevada Athletic Commission is withholding the Russian’s prize money. But Nurmagomedov attested to the genuineness of his plans by disregarding the subject of money. “And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end. #Brothers.”
