Ateneo Blue Repertory’s ‘Spring Awakening’ at Rizal Mini-Theater, ADMU

ATENEO Blue Repertory presents the Tony Award-winning rock musical “Spring Awakening” Feb. 14-March 1 at the Rizal Mini Theater, Ateneo de Manila University.

The musical, called “vital and new” (New York Times) and “a show that bristles with rawness, vitality and urgency” (Variety), features Gab Medina, Boo Gabunada, Bernice Reyes, Maronne Cruz, Nica del Rosario, Bym Buhain, Kenneth Keng, Air Paz, Tricia Allado, Tin Amante, Lara Antonio, Mikah Franco, Ian Hermogenes, Mikey Javier, David Mercado, Carlos Quiapo, Franco Ramos, Gala Sanchez, Arion Sanchez, RJ Santillan, Gabriel Perez, Darrell Uy, and Meg Yatco.

Repertory Philippines’ ‘Boeing Boeing’ at OnStage Greenbelt 1

REP’S “Boeing Boeing,” directed by Miguel Faustmann, runs until Feb. 17 at OnStage, Greenbelt 1. It stars David Bianco and Topper Fabregas, joined by Giannina Ocampo, Carla Dunareanu and Jen Bianco. Rep artistic director Baby Barredo (alternating with Joy Virata) returns to the stage in featured role.

4th Wall Theater Company’s ‘Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle, The Musical’ at Meralco Theater

4TH WALL Theater Company’s “Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical” is back onstage starting Jan. 25 at the Meralco Theater on Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.

Musical director is Ed Gatchalian, with lyrics by Joel Trinidad and direction by Jaime del Mundo. Athena Tibi, Red Concepcion and Mako Alonso comprise the lead cast.

Tanghalang Pilipino’s ‘Ibalong’ at CCP Little Theater

TANGHALANG Pilipino’s dance-musical adaptation of the Bicolano epic “Ibalong,” adapted for the stage by playwright Rody Vera and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, with musical direction by Carol Bello and choreography by Alden Lugnasin, opens with a gala premiere on  Feb. 8, 8 p.m., at the Tanghalang Aurelio V. Tolentino, CCP. The  musical runs until March 3.

Cast includes Jenine Desiderio, May Bayot, Myke Salomon, Red Nuestro, Delphine Buencamino, Trixie Esteban, Cheeno Macaraig, Tara Cabaero, Hazel Maranan, Opaline Santos, Kristofer Kliatchko, Cyril Balderama and Philip Palmos, with the TP Actors’ Company.

9 Works Theatrical’s ‘They’re Playing Our Song’ at RCBC Theater

9 WORKS Theatrical’s first production for 2013 is the Marvin Hamlisch-Carole Bayer Sager musical “They’re Playing Our Song,” copresented by The Rockwell Club and The Peninsula Manila.

The musical will star Nikki Gil and Lorenz Martinez, under Robbie Guevara’s direction. Other cast members are James Stacey, Reb Atadero, Noel Rayos, Peachy Atilano, Anna Santamaria and Jill Peña.

“They’re Playing Our Song” will run at the Carlos P. Romulo  Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City, Feb. 8 to March 3.

Dulaang UP’s ‘Collection’ at Guerrero Theater

Dulaang UP presents “Collection,” a new play by multiawarded playwright Floy Quintos. It runs Feb. 13-March 3 at the Wilfrido Ma. GuerreroTheater, Palma Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman.
