The 5 designers taking center stage at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

From traditional and tailored silhouettes to contemporary-mod looks, this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games aren’t just a show of sportsmanship but also of sartorial exploration

One of the best things about fashion is its ability to weave itself into so many different facets of life. The Olympics and Paralympics—the world’s grandest celebration of sportsmanship—are no exception. And with this year’s games set against the dreamy backdrop of Paris, countries have taken the sporting event as an opportunity to showcase serious threads good enough for fashion week.

Below, check out five standout designers taking center stage at the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games:

For this year’s games, Team Ireland will be sporting custom couture looks by New York-based Irish designer Laura Weber. The uniforms took nearly three years to make, with Weber drawing inspiration from Irish nature and textiles. Veering away from the typical green Ireland is known for, Weber opted for stark white and added depth by incorporating the iconic shamrock through the uniform’s embroidery.

Imagined by Kenzo artistic director Nigo, the outfits nod to the sport’s Japanese origins. Team France will also wear the same kimono-inspired suits that were unveiled during the F/W 2023 showcase of the brand.
