When it comes to elegant high-quality watches, dahlings, Lucerne has become one of the unmatchable watch distributors in the country.
Last week Lucerne launched the finest timepieces of the world-renowned Breguet at Red Restaurant of Makati Shangri-La. The launch was in cooperation with the Embassy of Switzerland and in commemoration of Swiss National Day.
Guest of honor was Swiss Ambassador Ivo Sieber. Martin Ganz of Breguet jetted in to Cosmo Manille for the celebration.
The Swiss celebration had Makati Shangri-La’s popular GM Reto Klauser presenting executive chef Michael Ramseier and master chef Oskar Marti from Münchenbuchsee (rated 17 Gault-Millan points) who had also flown into town.
In his short opening speech the Ambassador said, “I’m happy to be associated with tonight’s dinner event offered by Breguet watches and created by chef Oscar Marti and his dedicated team. It’s a true showcase of what Switzerland is all about: creative innovation, paired with quality, reliability and tradition. We’re teaming up with Breguet with its long history at the forefront of what Swiss watchmaking has to offer.”
Breguet is exclusively distributed by Lucerne. Available in Lucerne Shangri-La Plaza and Lucerne Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City.
‘Wild Things’
Junjun Ablaza has always pushed the boundaries of fashion presentation, dahlings, and it was no different when he presented his “Wild Things” collection at the trendy nightspot Seventh High.
He transformed the club into a mystical forest with lush greens, towering trees and body-form mannequins adorned with lavish furs, exotic skins and magnificent jewelry, which is so Junjun, palanggas.
Ablaza calls his jewelry “experiential,” a cross between wearable art and fashion. He said his goal is “to push the envelope” and create accessories that are “unique and awe-inspiring.”
The soiree had some of society’s namedroppables such as Sari Yap, Nympha Valencia, and Tessa Prieto-Valdes, all dressed in “Animale,” as the invitation had encouraged the invitees to wear.
Seventh High hosted this bash as part of a fashion series dubbed “Glimmer Thursdays.”
Without batting an eyelash, I could say it was definitely a happening for the books. “Wild Things” lived up to Ablaza’s standard and reputation: bold and beautiful both as an event and as design. More people now look forward to more similar Seventh High events, natch!

Topshop, Topman
Topshop and Topman celebrated with a bang their awesome 10 years in the Philippines with an anniversary bash at Opus in Resorts World.
The following night, Preview magazine’s Best-Dressed Ball took place at Seventh High.
“Preview and Topshop have a long history together,” mag editor in chief Pauline Juan said. “Topshop is our sister company.”
“This event is our way of saying thank you for a decade of success,” said Teresa David, marketing services manager for Topshop. “We partnered with Preview because it is one of the top fashion magazines in the country and host to the best parties.”
Well, amen to that, palanggas.
Topshop and Topman are expanding fast, dahlings. They will launch Topshop Make-up and Topman LTD sooner than soon.
