Inevitably Imperfect 2 Vinyl on Vinyl Preen
Perfectionist? Eight artists are here to challenge your penchant for order and ultimate refinement, and prove that there’s beauty among the broken crevices.

Inevitably Imperfect 2, the second installment of the successful inaugural exhibition of the same name in Bangkok, features the works of eight different artists. It also exclusively presents their personal interpretations of the ambiguous theme of perfection (and the lack of it). The show began yesterday, but viewers have until Aug. 15 to drop by and check it out.

Delving into various layers of connections, which exist within the New Contemporary Art realm, each work celebrates diversity, whether through artistic process, media, content, or their personal backgrounds. With artists hailing from different parts of the globe—the USA, Latvia, Japan, and even our very own Philippines—one can be sure to enjoy an array of fresh perspectives.

The artists to expect include Japanese sculptor Akira Miyamoto who incorporates the complexities of human emotions contradicting with thought. Latvian painter Jana Brike who gives us a glimpse of her unique culture, coupled with out-of-body experiences, and Filipino artist Lynyrd Paras whose stark portraits are often described as “fiery apparitions.”

They all have one common denominator: Their works thrive in the absence of uniformity, and are, in the best sense, unapologetically flawed.

Inevitably Imperfect 2 runs until Aug. 15 at Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery, 2135 Warehouse 2 Chino Roces Ave., Makati. The gallery is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit their website
